News & EventsUNION CORRUGATING PARTICIPATES IN HUGS FOR SOLDIERS PROGRAMFayetteville, NC -- Union Corrugating teamed up with the Hugs For Soldiers organization this holiday season by providing care packages to deployed soldiers around the world. The packages are expected to reach our troops by Christmas Day. This is the first year Union has participated, and was internally organized at the Union headquarters in Fayetteville. “Our participation in this great program was our way of saying thank you to the men and women who have clearly sacrificed their safety for the safety of our families,” said Jason Thornton, Vice President Sales and Marketing. Union hopes to expand participation next year. Mel Acosta, Corporate Fleet and Logistics Manager, who helped coordinate the efforts, said, “We’re already looking to involve the other plants next year so we can make a bigger impact. It’s such a good feeling to provide a touch of home to our troops.” This non-profit, volunteer-based organization has been supporting troops since 2003 with the start of Operation: Iraqi Freedom. HUGS supports all branches of the service.
