Interior Applications for Metal Roofing Featured on "Extreme Makeover: Home Edition"

(Fayetteville, North Carolina, October 2011) — A recent episode of Extreme Makeover: Home Edition featured Union's 2.5" oval corrugated product used as a backsplash in a designer kitchen.

Based in Fayetteville, NC, which is also the corporate headquarters of Union Corrugating, the project was a perfect opportunity to donate materials to a worthy cause.

The Jubilee House was built in classic American Heritage style with an efficient, eco-friendly log home. Union's 2.5" oval corrugated product was used as a backsplash to provide a unique and modern look to the kitchen area. The classic oval profile of this product duplicates the original type of metal roofing that has been used for decades in rural areas. This product is being increasingly used in restaurants, where architects use the product to add character and charm to both the interior and exterior. In some instances, customers prefer a rusted, weathered look to add age to the building. In this case, the new, unweathered look was preferred to give the kitchen a more modern feel.

Union Corrugating Company, founded in 1946, is a recognized industry leader in the manufacture and distribution of metal roofing and siding products and accessories. Recently, the company has been developing products for the ever growing residential roofing market that can potentially save homeowners money on energy, repairs, and insurance costs. Currently, Union has ten manufacturing and distribution facilities located across the Eastern and Central United States.
